Privacy
The short version: this site collects only what each tool needs to work, never sells or shares it, and shows no ads or trackers.
Class attendance
Your name, your answer to the day's question and the time you checked in. If a class requires location, your phone's position is checked against the classroom on the spot — only whether you were in range and how far away are saved, never your exact location.
Attendance records are kept for the professor's records until he deletes them.
Campus Quest
Your Banner ID, your character, the name you choose to show, your training time and a 4-digit PIN. The PIN is stored scrambled (hashed), so no one — including the site — can read it back.
While you're training, your last location is kept so the group-training boost works; it's cleared when you stop. Sign-in activity (with the network address it came from) is kept for 30 days to spot misuse, then deleted.
Study Games and Code Activities
Recall Raid, Study Gameboard, Monarch Methodology, Arcade Academic, the Study Games minigames and the in-class Code Activities only use the nickname you type. Games live in memory while they're running and are gone when they end. Code you submit in a Code Activity is shown to the class only while the activity is open and is never run on this site's server. Typed answers may be checked by a small AI model that runs on this site's own server; they aren't sent anywhere else. A wrong typed answer that came close to the right one is kept, without any name, for up to 30 days so the professor can decide whether to accept it next time.
Keeping games clean
Names and typed answers in the games, Code Activities and Code to Concept's live mode are checked by a word filter. The teacher picks how strict it is before the game starts (K-12 or College+). Anything it blocks is simply refused and never shown to the class. Nothing that's blocked is saved.
Mod Lounge and Modular Tower Defense
When you submit a mod to the Mod Lounge, the mod's name, the author name you enter, its description, its GitHub links and an optional screenshot are saved, and nothing is public until the professor approves it. Downloads come straight from GitHub, so GitHub sees those visits. Liking a mod saves a random ID in your browser so each browser can like it once.
Modular Tower Defense saves the name you enter with each score for the leaderboard, and the name, author and files of any web mod you submit.
Mod Lounge submissions, Modular Tower Defense scores and web mods also save a scrambled (hashed) version of your network address, so spam can be traced and cleaned up. It can't be turned back into your address.
Supporting Summer Beta
Ko-fi handles all payments; this site never sees card details. Ko-fi tells the site each supporter's name, the amount and whether they chose to be shown publicly, and public supporters appear on the Summer Beta page.
Newsletter and questions
If you subscribe, your email address and the topics you picked are saved until you unsubscribe (every email has an unsubscribe link). Questions asked through the course forum are saved, along with your email only if you ask to be emailed the answer. Suggestions are anonymous.
Things other services see
Fonts come from Google Fonts and a spreadsheet reader from cdnjs, so those services see your network address when pages load. Mod Lounge downloads come from GitHub. Weather and sports scores are fetched by this site's server, so those services never see you at all. There are no ads, analytics trackers or third-party cookies.
